Director Of Nursing – Hospital

The Director of Nursing assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility. In collaboration with hospital Administration, associate allocates department resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each patient to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Associate collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support and coordinate patient care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of the facility. Associate ensures that Nursing Unit is in compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory standards. This associate reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and oversees the patient care staff of the medical surgical and the emergency departments.
Qualifications or Certifications Required
Current Maryland license as a Registered Nurse
BSN required, MSN preferred
Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience
Certified in CPR, ACLS, PALS
Supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulatory guidelines
Demonstrated interpersonal and instructional skills
May be assigned to day or evening shifts as necessary.
May be required to participate in weekend rotation.
Expected to work overtime for patient care as needed.
