Laura Chambers, RN, Named PEARL of the Month
McCready Health recently awarded the PEARL of the Month Award to Director of Quality Improvement and Safety Laura Chambers, RN, of Stockton, Md.Chambers has served in her current role since August 2015. She previously worked from 1996 through 2011 in various positions at McCready Health, including Staff Nurse, Charge Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing of the Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Acting Director of the Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Infection Control and Staff Educator. She also taught GNA and CPR classes at McCready Health.
“I like the people,” she said. “It’s like a family atmosphere – everyone works together well,” she said.
“PEARLS” is an acronym for “Promoting Excellence And Recognizing Legendary Service.” Patients, residents and family members as well as McCready employees and volunteers are welcome to nominate a deserving associate by completing a PEARLS card. PEARLS cards and comment drop-boxes are located throughout the campus to collect all nominations.
All McCready Health PEARLS receive a framed certificate, a gift certificate and the honor of their names added to the engraved plaque in the hospital honoring all monthly PEARLS. They also have the opportunity to be named PEARL of the Year at McCready Health’s annual awards program.
