McCready Health Names Director of Rehabilitation Services

Colette Outten, PT, DPT, of Pocomoke, Md., has been promoted to Director of Rehabilitation Services for McCready Health.In this role, Outten provides patient care and oversees all daily operations of the Rehabilitation Department, which offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology services in McCready’s Outpatient Center and Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. In the future, she would like to expand her role by offering community outreach and education programs as well.

“I am very excited to lead this department and continue our successful history of providing high quality care for the residents of our community,” she said.

A familiar face at McCready, Outten began her career as a physical therapist in 2005 and was named manager in 2008. Beginning in 2010, she worked elsewhere before returning to McCready as a physical therapist in 2012. She was previously recognized with the McCready Foundation Ace Award for achievement.

Outten received both her doctor of physical therapy degree and her bachelor’s degree in general studies from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where she also served as a guest lecturer and adjunct professor. She is certified by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Clinical Instruction and by the American Red Cross in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

In her spare time, she and Brian, her husband of 19 years, volunteer with Athletes Serving Athletes (ASA), a regional organization that provides individuals with disabilities (ASA athletes) the opportunity to train and race in mainstream running and multi-sport events. The Outtens serve as “WingMen” who work together to provide encouragement and support to help ASA athletes compete in races and reach the finish line.

When not working with ASA, the couple competes in marathons, ultra marathons and triathlons. They are also involved with their church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Pocomoke and enjoy riding their tandem road bike, paddle boarding, skiing and essentially any outdoor activity.
