Michael White Jr. Named February 2017 PEARL of the Month
Michael White Jr. of Crisfield, Md., McCready Health’s Patient Accounts Clerk, has been named the McCready PEARL of the Month for February 2017.
White began his McCready career seven years ago as a 16-year-old, working part-time in both the Dietary and Environmental Services Departments. He was soon named to a full-time position in Admissions, and joined the Business Office two years ago.
“I like working with people and helping them when they come in with questions about their bills,” he said. “I help them apply for financial assistance or set up payment plans with them to help them stay current.”
White was nominated for the award by a co-worker who was working on a major project with a strict deadline. As he is known to do, Michael stepped up to help her make the important deadline; in fact, Michael is well-known throughout the hospital for going out of his way and beyond his regular duties to help patients and fellow employees in any way he can.
“PEARLS” is an acronym for “Promoting Excellence And Recognizing Legendary Service.” Patients, residents and family members as well as McCready employees and volunteers are welcome to nominate a deserving associate by completing a PEARLS card. PEARLS cards and comment drop-boxes are located throughout the campus to collect all nominations.
As McCready Health’s latest recipient, Michael received a framed certificate and a gift certificate. His name was also added to the engraved plaque in the hospital honoring all monthly PEARLS.
