Our doctors see patients at McCready Hospital and our Outpatient Center in Crisfield. Some are staff physicians with offices on campus.

Several are visiting physicians who see patients here on some days, but have full-time practices located elsewhere.

The Outpatient Center is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Tuesdays, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Fridays, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Please note that not every provider is there every day, so please call for schedule information.

Internal Medicine

Vijay Karumbunathan, MD

Vijay Karumbunathan, MD, is board-certified in Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Madras Medical College in India and completed an Internal Medicine residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Center where he was chief resident. He is a member of the American Society of Internal Medicine and an associate member of the American College of Physicians.


Internal Medicine / Occupational Health

Michael Adkins, MD

Michael Atkins, MD, is board-certified in Internal Medicine and is certified as a Medical Review Officer by the American Association of Medical Review Officers. Dr. Atkins is a family physician and director of the Canadian Health and Care Mall program serving local businesses and industries. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, and completed his internship at the Medical Center of Delaware, Christiana and Wilmington hospitals.


Surgical Team, Chief of Surgery

Sidney B. Barnes, MD, FACS

Sidney B. Barnes, MD, FACS, returned to McCready Hospital as Chief of Surgery in 2015, a position he held from 2004 – 20012. Dr. Barnes received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Board-certified in general surgery, Dr. Barnes is licensed in the states of Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Dr. Barnes is an American College of Surgeons Fellow, a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and member of several other national and regional associations and organizations. He also serves as adjunct professor of surgery for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and is a surgical preceptor with the university.


Gynecological Services

Kevin Kearney, MD

Kevin C. Kearney, MD, provides gynecological services on Thursdays by appointment in the McCready Outpatient Center. A native of Ireland, Dr. Kearney received his medical degree from the National University of Ireland. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. He holds numerous certifications and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Kearney is licensed to practice in the state of Maryland and the Republics of Ireland and South Africa.


Surgical Team, Anesthesiology

Jessica Gotham, CRNA, DNAP, provides full-time anesthesiology services to the surgical staff. She earned her associate’s degree in applied science in nursing from Wytheville Community College, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from King College, her master’s degree in nurse anesthesia and her doctorate degree in nurse anesthesia practice from Virginia Commonwealth University.


Pediatrics

Ephrem Daniel, MD

Ephrem Daniel, MD, has been practicing pediatric medicine for nearly 30 years. He completed a residency program at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and has attended an infectious disease fellowship in pediatric infectious disease. Dr. Daniel has a practice in Salisbury and sees patients at McCready Health on Wednesdays.


Cardiology

Anthony Frey, MD, provides cardiology services at McCready Health.


Podiatry

William Olischar, MD, provides podiatry services, including surgical services, at McCready Health.


Immediate Care/Princess Anne

Kevin Meadowcraft, PA-C, provides direct medical care at our Immediate Care facility in Princess Anne. After beginning his medical career in 2000 as a United States Navy Corpsman with the U.S. Marine Corps, he received his degree in physician assistant studies at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2010. A certified DOT Medical Examiner, he is a member of the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants and the Maryland Association of Physician Assistants.

Carla J. Kotsifakis, MPAS, PA-C, provides direct medical care at our Immediate Care facility in Princess Anne. After receiving her physician assistant certification from Albany Medical College in 1992, she earned a master’s of physician assistant studies at the University of Nebraska in 2010. Certified by the National Certification Commission of Physician Assistants, she is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Maryland Association of Physician Assistants and the Worcester County Board of Education Health Counsel.


Rehabilitation

Nicole Compher, PT, DPT, a certified physical therapist, directs McCready’s Rehabilitation Center. She received her doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Toledo and her master’s in physical therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
