Being sick or injured can be scary and exhausting. Waiting makes it worse.
At McCready Hospital, the typical wait in our Emergency Department is less than 30 minutes, limiting the stress of the process.
Our ED staff is comprised of a highly trained team of dedicated physicians, nurses and technicians here to serve you 24 hours a day. Our ED doctors are members of Emergency Service Associates, a group of board-certified professionals employed by many hospitals on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Last year our ED served 5,322 patients with issues spanning routine ear infections and sprained ankles to heart attacks and strokes.
You can come to McCready Hospital’s ED by land, bay or air. We are one of the few hospitals in the region with a dock just a few yards from the entrance of the ED. The STAT MedEVac helicopter ambulance lands just yards away from the ED to take patients to a more specialized critical care hospital when needed.
The ED entrance is on the back side of the building – follow the signs to the canopy. Treatment spaces are private and the ED is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including X-ray, CT scanning and ultrasound equipment.
