McCready Hospital offers comprehensive, convenient occupational health services to area employers, including drug and alcohol testing and pre-employment and DOT physicals.
We also provide Workers Compensation services for workers injured on the job. Among them are 24-hour emergency care by emergency medicine physicians, 24-hour laboratory and imaging services, surgery, and on-site physical therapy.
The program is headed by Dr. Michael R. Atkins, board certified in Internal Medicine. He is certified as a Medical Review Officer by the American Association of Medical Review Officers. The latter certification qualifies him to oversee drug and alcohol testing and aid local employers in complying with federal DOT testing requirements. He is also available to consult with employers on the testing results and to testify at trial should the results be disputed.
Dr. Atkins, together with board certified Internal Medicine specialist Dr. Vijay Karumbunathan, diagnose and prescribe treatment for work-related injuries. They also perform employment physicals, including vision and hearing screenings.
